Before the success of the Wright Brothers, many inventors tried to find a solution for flying. One of them was a tailor named Franz Reichelt. His idea was to design a parachute that allowed aviators to fly, in case their plane went down.
His initials tests from the 5th floor of his apartment building were successful. However, subsequent tests failed. He believed that the failure was due to the height of the building and if he tested the system from a higher level, he would succeed.
