1- Suzanne Collins, the author of Hunger Games, came up with the idea of the book, while switching TV programs about Iraq invasion and a reality show.

2- Jennifer Lawrence beat Emily Browning, Abigail Breslin, and Saoirse Ronan to land the lead role of Katniss in the movie adaptation.

3- Some reviewers have criticized the Hunger Games because of its significant similarities to a Japanese novel called Battle Royale.

4- The Hunger Games is ranked 5th on the American Library Association's list of most banned books for 2010 (for being sexually explicit, unsuited to age group, and violent)
